Mr. James Albert Johnson was born on July 5, 1944 in Anderson County S.C. to the late Mr. Willie U. and Anna Cowans Johnson. He departed this life on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at AnMed. He was married for 55 years to Carrie Morrison Johnson.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church at an early age and served on the Usher and Trustee Ministries. He loved God, his family, friends, and the church. He loved traveling the greater Anderson County area and meeting and greeting everyone. He loved the Clemson Tigers, Indianapolis Colts and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He retired from Michelin Tire Corp. and drove the CAT Buses for several years after retirement. He was educated in Anderson County Public School System.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carrie Johnson. He leaves to cherish his fond memories three children, Jerry, Shelia and Carmelia all of Anderson, two grandsons J.R. and C.J. and one great-grandson Semaj Morrison. He is survived by his sister Gladys Allen and brothers John David Cowans Jr. and Robert (D.Elaine) L. Cowans. He was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, three brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside Services will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, October 16.
Public Viewing will be 2 to 6 PM, Friday, October 15.
