Jerry Antoine "Crème Filled Cookie" Whitfield was born April1, 1962 - December 26,2019, in Anderson County, SC to the late Mr. Famon and Mildred Goodine Whitfild Sr. He departed this life on Thursday, December 26, 2019. He was the grandson of the late Norman Beatty, Josie Whitfield Chamblee, and Napoleon and Geneva Williams Goodine of Anderson County, SC.
Jerry was a 1980 graduate of Westside High School where he was an honor graduate and a star athlete on the Westside Wrestling Team which he received numerous medals. After graduating he pursed a career and a Nursing Assistant at Anderson Memorial Hospital and Ellenburg Nursing Center. Jerry obtained his Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Tri-County Technical College. After accepting God as his personal savior and sharing the love of God to all, Jerry became a very active member at St. Paul Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Ministry, Children Church, Van Ministry, Voices of Praise Choir, and Sunday School Teacher for the Men's Adult Sunday School class.
Jerry was a published writer of poetry and published a book of poetry entitled 'A Collection of Poems & Scriptural References". Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Jerry leaves a legacy of love and reconciliations to his loving wife Gayle P. Austin Whitfield, his children: Kendell (Tammy) Chamblee, Carius Lomax, Kyler Hester, Jerry Whitfield, Terrance Whitfield, Demeshe Dawson, Jermeika Whitfield, Melissa Austin Turner, and Christian (Chelea) Passaro. Sisters: Icelene W. Littles, Reverend Nina (Donnie) Holland, Joyce Whitfield. Brothers: Famon (Claretha) Whitfield, Jr., Tony (Florence) Whitfield Sr., Raymon (Angela) Whitfield and Waymon Whitfield. Jerry was a proud grandfather of sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He so also survived by two sisters-in-law: Bernice Whitfield and Loretta A. Whitfield. Aunts: Marie Groves and Sarah Beatty. A host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers: Ronnie Whitfield, Kent Whitfield, Sr., Alexander 'Mojo" Whitfield and Johnny "Babe" Whitfield. Sister: Geneva Ann Whitfield
