Jone Blanding

Mr. Jone Blanding was called to rest on October 8, 2022, at AnMed Health.  Jone was born on June 19,1942 in Anderson, SC to Mr. Richard Blanding Sr. and Mrs. Ruth Jones Blanding. He was married to the late Janie Rosanna Johnson Blanding for 50 years. This union was blessed with two sons.

Jone worked at Owen Corning Fiberglass for many years before becoming self-employed. He enjoyed a successful business in landscaping, buying, remodeling, renting and selling houses. He was a very skilled laborer and tradesman who knew a little something about everything. He passed this skill on to his sons and grandson, and they inherited his Jack of all Trades mentality. One of  Jone's favorite things to do was roast pigs overnight and fellowship with family.

Jone leaves to cherish his memories, sons, Reggie (Tanara) Blanding and two grandchildren, Shanade and La' Chaz Blanding, one great-grandchild Brooklyn Blanding.   Jone Rodrequis  (Kimberly) Blanding and 3 grandchildren, Shanta Blanding, Marcellus (Jordyn) Hunter and Kimbrionna Hunter and 4 great grandchildren Armoni Cunningham, DeAsia Blanding, Elijah and Ezekiel Hunter. Siblings include Annie Smith, Janie Corner, David (Eugenia) Blanding, Mclester (Gloria) Blanding) and Adger (Joyce) Blanding. His in-laws, Brenda Bond, James (Tecora) Johnson, Olin (Mary) Johnson, Bobby (Eva) Johnson, Linda Sullivan, Otto (Johnnie) Johnson, Priscilla (Eric) Gambrell, Edith (Eric) Anderson, Huley (Patricia) Johnson, Rene (Victor) Pressley and Zenobia Blanding along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jone was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Richard & Mrs. Ruth Blanding, his in-laws Reverend Olin & Lucy Johnson, Sisters, Elizabeth (Leonard) Merriweather and Fannie (Quincy) Williams, Brothers, Richard (Alberta) Blanding, James R. Blanding, Benny (Lou Ella) Blanding, Thomas Blanding, In- Laws, Curtis Johnson, Ricky Johnson, George Sullivan and Herman Bond.

Services will be held Saturday October 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Welfare Baptist Church 2176 Bolt Drive Belton, SC 29627 Interment in the church cemetery.

Public viewing is Friday October 14, 2022, 2pm - 6pm   Johnson Funeral Home 1401 South Fant Street Anderson SC 29624
